The village of Kingsdown is just east of St Margaret's and can be reached by the footpath than runs along the top of the cliffs.

Heading towards Walmer and Deal

Walmer is the next town along from Kingsdown as you walk along the coast to Deal. Until you reach Deal, most of the coastal path is away from traffic

Heading out towards the lighthouse, this is part of one of the walks you can start from the cottage. It is on the Frontline Britain trail - look out for the reminders that this was hell fire corner during WW2.

Near to the cottage

Heading from the lighthouse back to St Margarets. It takes about 90 minutes to walk fromthe cottage, to the National Trust lighthouse and then back along the coastal path dropping down into the bay.

Taken from the cliff foot path as you head back into the village from the West. Amazing views over to France which is only 21 miles away at this point.

Most of the land surrounding the village is owned by the National Trust.

Deal is a lovely traditional seaside town.

Beside the cottage

Dymchurch is around 30 miles from the cottage to the west of Dover. Behind the ugly concrete sea wall is a fabulous beach which has parts that allows dogs on all year round. The sea wall seperates the beach from the road so is great for the dogs.
