The area surrounding St Margarets in mainly owned by the National Trust. The photographs shown below are ones I took on a evening walk in August 2010. It starts from the cottage and allows you the choice of a longer walk to Kingsdown and back along the coastal path on the cliffs or simply back on the same route. I know they arn't very good but they do show just how beautiful the countryside is around the village of St Margarets.
This is the shorter walk of around 3 miles. Click on the photograph to make it larger and clearer.
Just 5 minutes from the cottage is the start of the walk down the track to Kingsdown with a view of the sea in the distance

Taking the shorter route and heading down towards the War Memorial on the cliffe top

National Trust land in all directions with the sea ahead - fantastic for dogs as there is no traffic

Miss Daisy having a little rest as she has only got 3 legs

Lots more running free fields

Walking through the farm on National Trust land

Heading down towards the sea - the view are wonderful at the point as your on a peninsula and can see the sea in both directions.

This looks down towards the return part of the longer walk from Kingsdown.

Finally a view of France as you head back into St Margarets Bay
